The piece is a hollow back in relief piece of brass with a gilt wash, depicting a stallion with saddle and bridle. The accoutrements are in bright gilt, the horse's body is in a semi-matt finish. There are a bolt and nut finishing to the reverse.

The gilt is worn in places, otherwise fine.
