*British, L56A1 Training (Chorley) Grenade, Inert*

Marked: QX2645 and on reverse 2DMB
Marked on Body: Prac. Gren. L56A1, XEL, 12/87, within a circle.

This is a British L159A1 practice hand grenade commonly called the Chorley grenade due to it being made at ROF(Royal Ordnance Factory) Chorley in Lancashire. The grenade would have had mid-blue hard rubber body and remnants of the paint are still evident and has raised lettering PRAC over GREN. L56A1 XEL and 12 over 87 (date) within a circle.
