*British, WW2, Royal Navy ‘Officer of the Watch’ Telescope, Dated 1943, By W. Ottway & Co Ltd*
4.5cm diameter, 34cm closed, 54.5cm single draw, 57.8cm with sunshade extended.
Inscribed “Broad Arrow, W. Ottway & Co Ltd, Ealing London, 1943, No 5040, Np 43. Patt.373B”. Matching serial number 5040 throughout – inscribed inside lense case, and on both ends along with another broad arrow. Nickle plated. Brown leather covered body.
W. Ottway was an optics firm from 1630 to circa 1964. Their golden years were between 1900 and 1945. They traded at Orion Works, Ealing (1921-1948).
*Condition*
This is in excellent condition with age and service related signs of wear and tear. There are a few minor dents to the metal work. The leather body has a nice patina and the leather is intact. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
