~ c1960’s Boxed Original Thunderbird 2 Toy – AJR 21 J. Rosenthal Toys Ltd ~

A J. Rosenthal Toys Ltd. AJR 21 Thunderbird 2 toy/model based on one of the vehicles from the iconic television series Thunderbirds. It was
produced around 1965/66 in conjunction with the tv series.

The vehicle is in classic green and features a friction motor, foldable landing gear and detachable pod

It is marked ‘No. 2, Made in Hong Kong’ along with the ‘JR’ diamond trademark on the friction drive housing towards the rear. This marks it out as
being quite an early version as later versions had this mark and a registration number, place towards the front of the toy.

The toy comes in its original picture card box.

~ Dimensions ~

The toy has a width of 10cm (4 inches) and length of 25cm (9 ¾ inches).

The box measures 7cm (2 ¾ inches) by 10cm (4 inches) by 25.5cm (10 inches).

Together they weigh 205g.

~ Condition ~

Unfortunately one of the legs has snapped off.

It is missing the thrusters, wings and small vehicle which would be contained within the pod.

Two of the decals are slightly damaged, though the others are fine.

Aside from these things the toy is in a good general condition with only light wear.

The box is in a generally good condition overall with general wear and the odd crease.

It is two end flaps have been replaced and a third has torn away and held on with tape. There is another bit of tape to one end and a date/price
written in ink to one end flap.
