Description

*Ceremonial Indian Luhri Dagger*

The ceremonial Luhri Dagger is a unique and culturally significant weapon that originates from India. This ornate dagger is often associated with the state of Himachal Pradesh, located in the northern part of the country. The Luhri Dagger is primarily used during traditional ceremonies, festivals, and cultural events in the region. It holds great significance in Himachali culture and is often carried by men as a symbol of honor, bravery, and social status. It may be worn as part of traditional attire or displayed on special occasions, such as weddings or religious ceremonies.

The Luhri Dagger features a curved and slender blade made of steel, which is renowned for its sharpness and durability. The blade is etched with the word India and floral motifs and features a choil next to the grip. The hilt of the Luhri Dagger is made of wood and metal. The pommel features what looks to be a lion. The leather scabbard features decorative etchings on one side and the letters 'DOD' on the other.

The blade is 30cm long, the dagger 41cm. The two smaller blades are 6cm.

*Condition*
This is a lovely dagger in generally good condition. There is some rusting on the blade and smaller blades and a slight chip to the edge of the pommel. The scabbard shows minor signs of wear and tear. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
