~ Chinese Qing Dynasty Nephrite Jade Carving Mythical Turtle With Lions Head ~
A lovely hand carved jade figure of a mythical creature with the body of a turtle and the head of a lion.
The creature rests with neck stretched out, holding the fungus of luck.
The carving is of nephrite jade in a celadon green with a brown patch. The sculptor took great care to utilize the brown patch, working it into the design of the fungus.
The carving dates to the Qing Dynasty era.
