~ Circa 1790 Flintlock Duelling Pistol By I And J Parr ~
A fine flintlock duelling pistol by I & J Parr. Parr was a gunmaker in Liverpool and closed in 1820, no doubt due a decline in peace after the battle of Waterloo in 1815. It still has its original ramrod. The barrel is of octagonal form with a foresight. The lockplate is named ‘I & J Parr’ and is fitted with a safety catch.
~ Condition ~
Please refer to the images for the condition. The pistol works well on cock and half cock. The ramrod is original to the piece.
~ Dimensions ~
The pistol is 37 cm (14.5 inches) in total length with a 23 cm (9 inches) barrel.
