The instruments are housed in a stained oak case with white dials.

The front is marked Verchaly Optn (for opticians) & Angers with the predicted weather, also in French. Angers is a City in the Anjou region of Western France.

The reverse is stamped ‘H P B U’.

The piece is 60 cm (23.5 inches) tall and 20.5 cm (8 inches) wide. The barometer face is 12 cm (4.75 inches) in diameter.
