~ Circa 1935 Moorcroft Sailing Yacht Boat Lidded Tureen ~
A fine example of 1930’s Moorcroft. The lid depicts three tube-lined stylised yacht sails and the body has two similar.
They are in a deep blue over a celadon ground. The base rim of the body is blue, the upper rim is a deeper celadon green as is the rim of the lid.
The underside of the dish has the impressed ‘Moorcroft’ and ‘Made in England’ stamps with Moorcroft’s initials in blue. The underside of the lid is also signed.
~ Dimensions ~
The tureen is 19 cm (7.5 inches) in diameter and is 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) tall.
~ Condition ~
The tureen has general crazing to the glaze. It is free from chips, cracks and restoration.
