Sea Recovered Danish Freighter S.China Sunk 1940
A china tea set, saucer & cup, recovered at sea from a Danish Freighter owned by the A.P.Moller Group. The ship sunk in 1940.
The saucer & cup are plain white with a blue border. Both have a stamp towards the top edge that reads “A.P. Møller, København” with company logo, a white seven pointed star inside a blue circle, in the centre.

Moller – Maersk Group has activities in a variety of business sectors, primarily within the transportation and energy sectors. It has been the largest container ship operator and supply vessel operator in the world since 1996.
The bases have been stamped with a symbol & “Denmark”.

The saucer has a diameter of 6.2 inches (15.7 cm) and a height of 1 inches (2.5 cm). It weighs 293 g.
The cup has a diameter of 3 inches (7.6 cm), a width (from handle to edge of cup) of 4 inches (10.2 cm) and a height of 2.7 inches (6.8 cm). It weighs 255 g.

Despite some minor wear the set is in an overall good and well preserved order.
