Description

~ Deactivated c1950’s Czeck VZ52 Self Loading Carbine with Carrying Strap ~

The VZ. 5257 rifle is a self-loading rifle developed shortly after the Second World War in Czechoslovakia. It fires the unique 7.62×45mm vz. 52 cartridge. It is considered both reliable and accurate, although it is longer and heavier than later assault rifles such as the vz. 58.

After pressure from the Soviet Union to adopt its 7.62×39mm cartridge, existing Czech rifles were rechambered to the Soviet caliber in 1957, and all further production of the rifle was chambered in this caliber and re-designated the vz. 5257. The vz. 5257 is identical except for its barrel and its magazines.

So this is one of the first series using the 7.62x45mm cartridge.

The carbine comes with a deactivation certificate dated December 12th 1988.

The barrel, just below the ammo chamber, is stamped she 007×56 E32386.

It can be cocked and dry fired with ease. The safety catch is fully functional.

~ Dimensions ~

The carbine has a length of 39.5 inches (100.5cm), with the barrel measuring 20.5 inches (52cm).

It weighs 4.29kg.

~ Condition ~

The carbine is in good condition with the expected wear for its age.

The metal parts lost their chrome finish but they remain free of rust or any damage.

The bayonet is missing.

Due to the fact that the front carrying trap ring was remover at some point in time the strap was attached to the bayonet catch.
