~ Framed Set Of 19th Century British & European Red Wax Seals ~
An interesting framed set of 19th century British and European red wax seals. A very appealing display.
The seals all appear to be official stamps featuring coats of arms, rampant lions, shields etc.
Of the seals that can easily be identified are:
‘The Common Seal of the London County Council 1889.
‘Searchers Office Gravesend’
‘Duchy of Lancashire’
‘Consul Uruguay’
‘Consulasdo de Portugale’
The set includes several slips of paper contemporary with the seals, some with handwriting and one piece with the date of 1848.
The seals are mounted on green material and presented in a glazed wood frame.
~ Dimensions ~
The framed set measures 46cm (18 inches) by 61cm (24 inches).
It weighs 3.2 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The seals and papers are all in good condition with general wear commensurate with age and function.
The frame is in a decent order with just a few small marks but no major damage.
