Description

This WW1 French flare gun bears the inscription "St. Étienne MLE 1866-74" as it was crafted from a repurposed GRAS rifle. This innovative conversion demonstrates the resourcefulness of the French military during World War 1. The original firearm's components were transformed to serve a new purpose—launching illumination flares on the battlefield. The gun cocks and dry-fires.

~Condition~

This flare gun conversion is in excellent condition with some minor surface marks and scratches. The metal parts are lightly, evenly pitted but retain a nice finish. Please see pictures for more detail.
