~ Georgian Hercules & Lion Gilded Pewter Plaque ~
The plaque is of rose gold gilding onto cast pewter.
The circular plaque is embossed with a decorated border, featuring shells between flowing vines.
The centre depicts the Greek divine hero Hercules, who is wearing a flowing cloak, hand wrestling a lion. A single wood club remains on the ground, the club being the mythological weapon associated with Hercules.
It dates to around 1790, give or take 30 years.

The plaque has a diameter of 10 inches (25.4cm). It weighs 611g.

There is some minor wear only, the lower edge is slightly recessed due to prior standing.
