*Germany, WW2, Original Ostland Treuefahrt 1933 Small Plaque*
Pressed white metal plaque, 114mm tall.
This scarce plaque commemorates a 1933 driving event organized by groups such as the N.S.K.K. During the Nazi era, various organizations held events as a means of spreading propaganda and reinforcing loyalty to the regime. The inscription “Ostland Treuefahrt” translates to “Loyalty Trip to the Eastland”. The design features a hand, representing loyalty to the homeland, nationalistic pride and allegiance, above a depiction of the Tannenberg War Memorial in East Prussia, along with the swastika and initials of the participating organizations (“A. D. A., N. D. A., D. m. V.-, A. v. D., D. T. C., N. S. K. K.”). “Ostland” referred to territories in Eastern Europe occupied by Nazi Germany, including parts of present-day Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Belarus. It is signed with a conjoined PL next to the date 1933. It has an antique silvered finish. The reverse is hollow. 3 corner holes.
