~ HMS Bruce Boat Badge (D81) 1918 ~
An original boat badge from the British Naval ship HMS Bruce circa 1918.
HMS Bruce was the second of eight Admiralty type flotilla leaders of the Royal Navy. Built by Cammell Laird, Bruce was commissioned
on 29 May 1918. During World War I, she served with the 10th Destroyer Flotilla at Harwich. She was sunk as a target ship on 22
November 1939.
The badge is of cast bronze. It is a shield shaped badge with a rope border and Naval crown atop.
It features a depiction of a spider on a saltire cross upon a blue painted ground.
The badge has a silvered finish in parts inc. border and crown.
There are three drilled mounting holes to the reverse.

The badge measures 12cm (4 ¾ inches) by 19.5cm (7 ¾ inches).
It weighs 1.65 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The badge is in a very nice condition with only light age wear but no damages.
The blue paint seems to be a modern addition.
