For sale is a Royal Naval clock which adorned the captain’s bridge of Britain’s last battleship, HMS Vanguard. Ordered during the Second World War, HMS Vanguard was completed in 1946 and remained as the nation’s flagship for some time. Decommissioned in 1960 and unfortunately sold for scrap, HMS Vanguard symbolised the decline of British sea power.
*Condition*
The bridge clock is in very good condition. Seemingly well looked after by its crew. The brass is excellently well polished. The clock face is also well preserved; there is a minor mark on the 40 number. Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
