~ Inert WW2 British Arnhem Found PIAT Fuse Tube – Personalised by Solider ~

We have an unusual item discovered in Arnhem after Operation Market Garden. After likely being buried for around 50 years, it has now been cleaned and restored. The item in question is a No. 426 fuse, complete with an alloy container and carrier. It was designed to be clipped to the vanes of a bomb while in storage, and then removed and opened in order to prime the bomb.

 

Additionally, the Projector Infantry Anti-Tank (PIAT) Mk I was a British man-portable anti-tank weapon developed during the Second World War. The PIAT was designed in 1942 in response to the British Army’s need for a more effective infantry anti-tank weapon and entered service in 1943.
