~ Large Austrian Porcelain Dish – Kaufmann ~
A lovely large Austrian porcelain dish.
The dish has transfer print decoration of flowers with gilt detailing.
To the centre of the dish is a classical portrait of a lady with maids and a cherub, signed ‘Kaufmann’
The piece has a blue hash symbol to the reverse. This mark was used by Von Schierholz of Plaue, Thuringia, Germany from 1865 -1911 but can also be
seen on porcelain from Austria around this time, hence the reason why we are not attributing this piece to one particular maker.
The dish has two pierced holes threaded with wire to the reverse for hanging.
~ Dimensions ~
The dish has a diameter of 34cm (13 ½ inches) and a depth of 6cm (2 ¼ inches).
It weighs 1.29 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The piece is in a very nice condition with no cracks or chips and only some light wear to the gilt on the rim.
