~ Victorian 1865 Aesthetic Teapot By Brownfield & Son ~
A charming teapot with embossed ivy leaves, a basket weave pattern to the underside, purple highlights and a pewter lid.
It bears the backstamp for Brownfield & Son, the English diamond registration mark for 1865 (letter date W) and is numbered 1533.
As a point of interest, these were reissued around 1874 as a majolica variant.
~ Condition ~
The teapot is free from chips and cracks. The lid fits tightly. The purple glaze is lightly worn in places, with heavy wear under the spout.
~ Dimensions ~
The teapot has a length of 20cm (8 inches), a width of 15 cm (6 inches) and a height of 11 cm (4.25 inches). It weighs 0.46 Kg.
