~ Late 19thC Copper Spirit Kettle With Burner & Stand ~
A late 19th century copper sprit kettle complete with decorative stand and burner.
All three component parts are of copper (the kettle has recently been polished whereas the stand has not, hence the difference in
colour).
The stand has ornate brass sides on which the kettle sits, raising it above the burner.
The kettle has a hinged, handle with turned wood grip and the lid has a turned wood lid knob/finial.
The burner is stamped ‘Patent, Jan, 12, 1892’.
~ Dimensions ~
The kettle on stand has a height of 28cm (11 inches) and weighs 1.72 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The kettle has two small dents to one side.
The kettles interior is somewhat distressed so as it stands we would suggest using this only as a decorative piece, though with some
work it could be made useable again.
The kettle does not sit snugly on the stand, one corner lifts a little though this is only a minor issue.
The rim of the burner is slightly bent out of true.
As mentioned, the kettle appears to have a different finish to the stand which is only due to the fact it has been polished recently. The
stand and burner can also be polished to the same high shine if desired with not too much effort.
Overall the piece is in a lovely condition with only minimal wear associated with age and use.
