~ Les ‘Jason’ Spence Oil On Canvas Of Ship In Bay ~
A lovely seascape oil on canvas painting of a Ship in a bay by Les Spence, better known as ‘Jason’ one of Britain’s most established marine artists.
The painting depicts a three masted ship in a coastal inlet in the evening with hills in the background and the shoreline with rowing boats to the foreground.
The painting is beautifully painted with such great detail and a wonderful use of colour giving a very atmospheric feel to the piece..
The painting is signed to the corner by the artist.
The painting is not framed.
~ Dimensions ~
The painting measures 61cm (24 inches) by 91.5cm (36 inches).
It weighs 1.16Kg.
~ Condition ~
The painting is in a great condition with no fading or damage. Something has been spilt on the painting. This may be possible to clean with a damp
cloth but we would recommend a professional clean, but this should be a simple and inexpensive job.
~ Les Jason Spence ~
Les Jason Spence (1934/5 – ?) was born in Cheshire and spent his early years growing up in Yorkshire.
In 1965 at the age of 31, he gave up his job to devote his time to painting. He had trained and practised as a lettering artist, gilder and interior designer

In 1971 Les and his family moved to Cornwall and over the years his reputation as a leading artist continually flourished. He ran his own gallery in
Padstow, Cornwall during the 1980’s before concentrating on painting full time.
His many exhibitions include The Royal Society of Marine Artists, The Royal Society of British Artists and had one-man shows throughout Britain. His
