~ Lithographic Print of HMS Victory – The Victory At Rest by C.E. Holloway c1888 ~
A framed lithographic print after an original etching by the British 19thC artist Charles Edward Holloway (1838-1897).
The print is titled ‘The Victory – At Rest (Portsmouth Harbour)’.
It depicts the HMS Victory at rest in Portsmouth harbour (just like the title says) with Old Portsmouth in the background, the Round Tower clearly visible and other smaller ships to its right.
Below is a wreath surrounded shield commemorating the Battle of Trafalgar, and a description of the work by the artist.
The print was published in 1888 by Arthur Lucas of Bond St, London.
The print is mounted and presented in a glazed period wood frame.

The image measures 43cm (17 inches) by 58cm (22 ¾ inches)
The frame measures 80.5cm (31 ¾ inches) by 94cm (37 inches).
The framed piece weighs 6.65 Kg.
~ Condition ~
There is a little foxing to the print, but the majority is to the border with only a few small spots to the image.
The mount has a little wear as does the frame but overall they are in a decent condition.
The item is in a good overall condition for its age.
