~ London 1872 Victorian Two Piece Silver Tea Set ~
A nice Victorian two piece silver tea set comprising of tea pot and sugar bowl, the teapot is of a size for a 2 cup serving.
Both pieces have plain bodies, a scalloped edge to the top and rest on four feet.
The tea pot has a dark wood handle and finial.
The sugar bowl is twin handled.
Both pieces are hallmarked for London, 1872 and have the makers mark of ‘JDWD’ for James Deakin & Sons (John & William F. Deakin).
They are also stamped with a serial no. of ‘H7270’.
~ Dimensions ~
The tea pot measures 8 ½ (21.5cm) (from handle to spout), by 5 inches (12.5cm) with a height of 6 inches (15cm).
The sugar bowl measures 5 ½ inches (14cm) across the handles by 3 ½ inches (9cm) with a height of 3 ½ inches (9cm).
Together they weigh 525g.
~ Condition ~
Both pieces seem to be in a very nice condition with no real signs of damage to the silver but merely general wear as to be expected from items of this age. The wooden finial to the teapot does have a crack.
