Description

~ Napoleonic Period Bavarian Hussar Sabre and Scabbard ~

This is a fine example of a pipeback Bavarian sabre of the Napoleonic period. As can be seen in the images, the piece comes with its brown leather with brown fittings scabbard.

The grip is made of black leather copper wired carved wood.

The pipeback blade is etched on both side with the Bavarian Royal monogram beneath the crown, with arms and banners and Mars, on one side, and Fortuna, on the other.

~ Condition ~

The blade developed some age pitting in some places and has usage nicks. Overall though it is in very good condition for its age with clear etchings.

The scabbard has the expected age
