Description

~ Oriental, Probably Ottoman Miquelet Muzzleloader Pistol ~

A very nice example of a miquelet lock with a part octagonal barrel with gold inlays on the top section and floral etchings.

The entire wooden body is decorated with silver-inserted foliage, underneath the barrel taking the shape of a large leaf.

The trigger guard and the pommel have intricate patterns and are made of brass.

The cartouche on the top of the grip looks like gold attached there with brass nails.

~ Dimensions ~

The barrel length is 29 cm and the overall length of the piece is 46 cm.

~ Condition ~

The piece cocks and releases as it should. There are signs of age on it but its overall condition is very good.
