The C96 is a semi-automatic pistol that was originally produced by German arms manufacturer Mauser from 1896 to 1937 and was used in service until 1967. The distinctive characteristics of the C96 are the integral box magazine in front of the trigger and the long barrel. Additionally, the grip of the gun seemed to resemble that of a broom handle and hence the nickname “Broomhandle” was used by English speakers. The gun is able to be cocked and dry fired. Serial number 691744.
