The vases are marbled in deep red over a yellow ground with Bohemian hallmarked white metal mounts.

~ Franz Welz ~

The Franz Welz glassworks was founded in Bohemia in 1728, and was in production until around the 1930’s. The factory was also known as Antonienhütte. Franz Welz glass is most noted for a wide range of colourful artistic glassware produced during the 1920’s & 1930’s. Output at this time included spatter glass + tango glass, and was similar in style to Kralik glass.

~ Condition ~

Both vases are in good order with no chips or cracks, the white metal mounts has several dings.

~ Dimensions ~

The vases are 19.5 cm (7.75 inches) tall with a maximum diameter of 8.5 cm (3.25 inches). The pair weigh 545g.
