~ Pair Of Meiji Period Japanese Kutani Vases ~
A lovely pair of Japanese Kutani vases from the Meiji period of 1868 – 1912.
The vases are of high shouldered ovoid form.
They are hand painted with peonies, peacocks and peahens on a white ground with orange/red areas and git detailing.
Both have moulded butterfly form lugs.
They both have Japanese character marks to the underside.
~ Dimensions ~
The vases each have a diameter of 12cm (4 ¾ inches) and a height of 24cm (9 ½ inches).
The pair weighs 1.55 Kg.
~ Condition ~
One of the vases has a hairline crack to the upper rim which runs about two inches down, but otherwise the vases are in a lovely condition with no damage.
