~ Pair of William Moorcroft ‘Daffodil’ Pattern Florian Ware Ships-Decanter Vases, c.1904-1913 ~
A fabulous pair of Florian Ware vases with compressed bulbous bodies and extended cylindrical necks, with floral decoration on blue ground.
Both vases are stamped with the typical early Florian ware mark in brown.
One vase is signed by hand with the W.M. initials in green with ‘des’ below while the other one is incised with the initials. They both having a blue pattern number of ‘M.881’.
~ Dimensions ~
Each vase has a height of 10.25 inches (26 cm). The circumference at the widest point is 7 inches (17.5 cm). Each vase weighs approx. 1 kg.
~ Condition ~
One vase has had some professional restoration to the rim and neck. The other vase has minor damage to the neck, this has had a museum quality restoration to restore the piece without disguising the repair. The glaze has some crazing. They present very well.
