This is an original zig zag clock used to confound the uboat packs in the Atlantic during WW2.
This Clock is from WW2 being made in 1939/40, Mercer were the only maker of specialist electrical contact clocks that would be used for the zig zag manoeuvre where convoys change course at a specific time to confound the tracking Uboats. Although completely original and a piece of WW2 Maritime history this Clock has lost its indicators over time and is not currently in working order. It also needs a replacement glass.
*Condition*
For its age and considering the life it has had the clock is in good condition apart from apparently not working. Please look at the pictures as these form part of our condition report.
