~ Royal Doulton D6945 Len Hutton Cricketers Series Character Jug ~
A limited edition cricket character jug of Sir Leonard Hutton (23 June 1916 – 6 September 1990), an English Test cricketer who played for the Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
The jug has a ribbon bearing the number 364, which is intertwined around the handle of the jug (in the form of a cricket bat) which represents his famous record innings against Australia at the oval cricket grounds in 1938.
The jug was commissioned by Lawleys By Post and was issued in a limited edition of 9,500.The first jug was presented to Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Kent, who is patron of the Len Hutton 364 Appeal. This jug was only available in 1993.
The base is stamped:
“D6945, Len Hutton (1916-1990), issued in a limited number of 9,500, modelled by Stanley James Taylor, No.1607, Copyright Royal Doulton”.

The box has a height of 7.3 inches (18.4cm), and measure 4.8 inches wide by 4.8 inches (12.3cm) deep.
The jug has a height of 4 inches (10.1cm) and a width of 3.7 inches (9.5cm). The set weighs 322g.

Both the box and the jug are in excellent condition.
