~ Royal Navy HMS Porcher T281 1942 Isle Class Trawler Bronze Ships Bell ~
Here we have the original ships bell from the ship, it is named and dated 1942.
HMS Porcher was an Isles Class MS trawler minesweeper built by the Midlands Shipyards Ltd of Midland, Ontario, Canada. She was laid down on the 11th of December 1941, launched on the 26th of May 1942 and commissioned on the 27th of October of the same year.
Her commanders were T/S.Lt G.Edwards RNVR 1942-1944, T/Lt A. Martin RNVR 1944-1945 and T/Lt F Hudson RNVR1945-1946.
One of a class of 145, she had a displacement of 545 BRT, a length of 164 feet and a crew of 36 and 4 officers. She was armed with 1 12 pounder AA gun and 3 20mm AA auto-cannons.
She was used extensively for convoy duty, search and rescue and submarine detection.

The bell is in good order and is complete with its original clapper.
