~ Small Victorian Rosewood Writing Slope ~
A neat little piece of desk furniture with removable glazed earthenware inkwells and candlestick holder.
The black leather cover of the slope is virtually without a scuff and sits in the cartouche with neatly painted gold edges.
Lifting the tidy brass-hinged writing slope reveals a compartment for pens and stationary.
~ Dimensions ~
The box is 9.5 inches (24 cm) wide and (21.5 cm) 8.5 inches deep.
From its base to the top of the candlestick holder it measures 3.5 inches (9 cm) tall.
Each earthenware inkwell is 3 inches tall (7.5 cm) and 2 inches in diameter (5 cm).
The piece weighs 1.15Kg.
~ Condition ~
This little piece is in really good condition and must have had minimal usage.
There are no ink stains inside or out, the only indicator to its use is the felt around the inkwell holders which is worn.
Additionally, one of the inkwells has a very small (.5 cm) chip on its shoulder. Both jars are tricky to remove and require care doing so.
