*Soviet, Cold War Era, Army Officer’s Visor Cap (Artillery or Motor Rifle Troops), Dated 1982, Size 60*
A genuine Cold War-era Soviet Army officer’s peaked visor cap (also known as a pilotka or service cap), manufactured in Kiev in 1982. The cap features a khaki wool crown with distinctive red piping and a black velvet band — typical of artillery and motor rifle units. The front bears a gold starburst cockade with the iconic red enamel star and hammer & sickle emblem. The cap is fitted with a glossy black patent leather peak and chinstrap secured by Soviet star buttons.
Inside, the cap retains its original manufacturer’s stamp in Cyrillic: “Производственное объединение головных уборов, Киев, 1982” — “Production Association of Headwear, Kiev, 1982”. dated 1982, with the size marked as 60. A great example of a late Cold War Soviet officer’s service dress cap.
*Condition*
In very good condition overall. Minor signs of use to the band and a few loose threads near the piping. The internal sweatband and lining are complete but show some wear and fading. The badge and buttons are intact and clean. A solid example for collectors of Soviet militaria. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
