A scarce and attractive Wilkinson London folding-guard fencing foil or military practice smallsword dating to the Edwardian and First World War period, likely accepted in 1911 and reinspected or reissued in 1915. Retaining its original gilt brass hilt, wire-bound grip, Broad Arrow inspection marks, and unusual folding shell guard mechanism, this is an elegant and highly displayable example of early 20th century British military and salle fencing equipment.
