~ Victorian 11th Regiment Of Foot Shako Plate ~
Here we have a Victorian shako plate marked to the 11th Regiment of Foot.
The 11th at the time would later have been known as theDevonshire Regiment and served in the Second Boer War and the Tirah Campaign but spent most of the Victorian Era on garrison duty.
The badge is made of brass that has been stamped from a sheet and had the inserts cut out. It is a wreathed 11 topped by the Queens crown with ‘Honi soit qui mal y pense’ around the 11. The badge has two lugs for a split pin on the rear face.

The badge is 9 cm at its widest.
The badge is 50g.
~ Condition ~
The badge is in good condition for its age with very little loss of its brass finish and some light speckling of patina to the rear dace.
