~ Victorian Taxidermy Red Squirrel In Modern Glass Dome ~
This red squirrel is a nice example of Victorian taxidermy.
The squirrel is mounted on a branch and holds a nut in its mouth.
It is housed in a modern glass dome with integral fairy lights (but these could easily be removed).
The squirrel merely rests within the dome leaning against the glass rather than properly mounted.
~ Dimensions ~
The piece measures 25.5cm (10 inches) wide by 36cm (14 inches) in height.
It weighs 2.45 Kg.
~ Condition ~
There is a little wear to the back of the squirrels head and arm, but from the front it presents very well.
There is a metal rod sticking out the squirrels back, presumably from its original mount.
The squirrel is otherwise in a very nice condition with no damages.
The glass dome and base as mentioned are modern, but present well and are in good order with no damages.
