*WWII, German, Kreigsmarine EM/NCO Breast Eagle (Kriegsmarine Brustadler)*
A high-quality original Kriegsmarine EM/NCO breast eagle is crafted from dark blue wool, featuring a machine-embroidered Wehrmacht eagle in golden yellow thread gripping a wreathed swastika on the front. Unlike officers’ ranks that typically used hand-embroidered breast eagles, EM/NCO ranks opted for machine-embroidered or machine-woven versions. The Kriegsmarine’s national eagle closely resembled the army version but differed in color, with the army using silver, white, and grey eagles, while the Kriegsmarine employed golden yellow eagles.
The Kriegsmarine served as Nazi Germany’s navy from 1935 to 1945, succeeding the Imperial German Navy of the German Empire (1871–1918) and the inter-war Reichsmarine (1919–1935) of the Weimar Republic. As one of the three official branches alongside the Heer and the Luftwaffe in the Wehrmacht, the German armed forces from 1933 to 1945, the Kriegsmarine played a significant role during this period.
