Description

*Yugoslavian M75 Grenade БР.М 75. Inert*

M75 grenade, serial number 9015. Marked marked БР.М 75. This particular was manufactured in Yugoslavia prior, as identified by the three letter Cyrillic factory code on the side of the grenade: СРБ (SRB in English). Length 89mm, diameter 57mm. The grenade is a standard recent design fragmentation grenade, with shrapnel embedded in a plastic resin matrix.

The M75 grenade, also referred to as "kashikara" in English, "kašikara" in Serbian Latin, and "кашикара" in Serbian Cyrillic, is a hand grenade originating from Yugoslavia. It proves to be effective in various terrains such as trenches, forests, and bunkers. The grenade consists of a body, an explosive charge, and a fuse mechanism designed in a "mouse trap" style, all of which are housed within a plastic transportation container.

The core of the grenade contains 3,000 steel balls measuring 2.5-3 mm in diameter. It possesses an effective killing radius of 12-18 meters and a casualty radius of 30-54 meters. The explosive charge within the grenade amounts to 36-38 grams of plastic explosive. The fuse, known as "bušon" in Serbian, features a delay time ranging from 3 to 4.4 seconds. The name of the grenade, "kašikara," originates from the Turkish word for spoon, "kašika." Interestingly, in American English, the lever of the grenade is colloquially referred to as the "spoon." Additionally, the M-75 hand grenade was also manufactured in Macedonia, where it is designated as the M-93.
