~ Zelezny Brod Sklo ZBS Bohemian Glass Vase ~
A great looking vase made by the Zelezny Brod glassworks (aka Železnobrodské Sklo or ZBS) dating to the 1950’s/60’s.
The vase is most probably designed by Miloslav Klinger as it has his style although we cannot guarantee this.
The vase has an organic feel with a clear glass reservoir framed by thick lilac glass ‘fins’.
The piece is not marked or named.
~ Dimensions ~
The vase has a width of 15cm (6 inches), a height of 17cm (6 ¾ inches) and a depth of 6cm (2 ½ inches).
It weighs 815g.
~ Condition ~
The vase has a few small scratches to the inside of the rim and a couple of fleabite chips to one side (the lilac portion) but otherwise the vase is in a very nice condition with no cracks or damages.
~ Zelezny Brod Sklo Glass ~
The Zelezny Brod glassworks, also known as Železnobrodské Sklo (ZBS), was created in 1948 as a result of nationalisation. At this time it was made up of nine glass factories in the town of Zelezny Brod, Czechoslovakia (Now the Czech Republic).
ZBS is probably best known for its popular free-formed organic vases and bowls, designed by Miloslav Klinger during the 1950’s/60’s.
