This is a 12 inch diameter, brass tampion from HMS Queen Elizabeth. HMS QE was the lead ship of her class of five dreadnought battleships built for the Royal Navy in the early 1910s, and was often used as a flagship. She served in the First World War as part of the Grand Fleet and also served throughout multiple theatres during the Second World War. She was eventually decommissioned and scrapped in 1948. The tampion is fixed upon a wooden frame and would make an excellent decoration with historical significance.
*Condition*
The tampion is in good, undamaged condition with a general patina in keeping with its age. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
