~ W. L. Wyllie Watercolour Of A Merchant Navy Sailor ~

William Lionel Wyllie (1851-1931) was the pre-eminent Victorian maritime artist, well known for his etchings. It is rather rare to find a portrait by the artist.

The painting is presented in a gilt, wooden frame, it is single mounted and glazed.

~ Condition ~

The frame is in good order, a few minor chips. The image is nice and clear, some very light and minor foxing.

~ Dimensions ~

The frame is 39 cm (15.5 inches) tall and 34 cm (13.25 inches) wide.
