*Original WW1 1917 British Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mark III Bolt Action Rifle, made by BSA. Deactivated*
This original, late War Lee Enfield No.1 Mk.III* (deactivated) is a fantastic example of the iconic rifle used by the British during the First World War. Manufactured and dated 1917, this rifle is numbered on the bolt and the underside of the receiver 36271. This short, magazine Lee-Enfield Mark 111 rifle bears the following marks, 5 followed by the The Crown Cypher, ‘The BSA Co Ld.1917 SHT L E 111’. It was made by the Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited,” one of the primary manufacturers of Lee-Enfield rifles during World War I. The guard wing is stamped with a broad arrow. The stock bears the numbers 238 and IICD K. The lower receiver has two Crown cyphers, X, O1 which indicates that the rifle was produced for the British government and was tested and found to meet certain standards for safety and quality, it also bears the mark M manufacturers code for Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA) during World War I. Other proof marks are also present. See photographs for further detail. The rifle is deactivated to current requirements, the bolt cycles and the magazine is removable. A very nice example.
The Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mark III* was one of the standard-issue rifles used by British and Commonwealth forces during World War I. It was known for its reliability, accuracy, and rapid fire capabilities.

This is a good example of a Lee-Enfield rifle . The rifle is in overall good condition with no rust or other damages to the body of the rifle. The body has a good patina commensurate with its age.
