~ 1876 Pattern Martini Henry  Bayonet Dated March 1900 ~

The 1876 pattern Martini-Henry bayonet, officially known as “Bayonet Common Long” was nicknamed “Lunger” by the troops and was purely a stabbing weapon. This is the type used during the Zulu war at the Rocks Drift. The blade is stamped with a series of Enfield Proof Marks and the manufacturing date “03 ’00”.

The piece comes in its original scabbard.

~ Condition ~

The bayonet is in very good condition with minor rust. The scabbard’s stitchings are loose.

~ Dimensions ~

The bayonet has a total length of 64 cm (25 inches).
