This is an immaculate Walther PPK dated 1971. It comes with its original box, instruction booklet and target sheet plus a replica silencer.
The widely known PPK, introduced in 1931 by Carl Walther GmbH Sportwaffen, is a compact semi-automatic pistol with a shorter grip, barrel, frame, and reduced magazine capacity. Its abbreviation “PPK” stands for “Polizeipistole Kriminal” (police pistol criminal), indicating its use by crime investigators. Although often mistaken for “kurz” (German for “short”), “Kriminal” was used in early advertising and catalogs.
The PPK found widespread use, including by German military officers, the Luftwaffe, and police detectives. It gained notoriety as Adolf Hitler’s suicide weapon and was used in notable historical and fictional events, like the assassination of South Korean leader Park Chung-hee and its appearance as James Bond’s firearm in novels and films.
