The Brodie Mark II helmet, introduced in 1938, was a British military helmet used during World War II. It featured a new shell with a non-magnetic rim to allow the use of a magnetic compass and an improved liner and chinstrap compared to its predecessor. Initially issued to the ARP services, fire brigade, and police, it was later adopted by the military. In 1940, it was re-designated as “Helmet, Steel, Mark II, No 1.”
