The case is a superior quality walnut case, very beautiful and made in Germany. The lid has a wooden inlay of an attractive floral design. The case has two moulded brass handles either side for easy lifting.
On the left hand side, at the centre of the handle is a small brass knob, when pulled out music will begin to play, when pushed back in the music will stop when the disk reaches the end. On the right hand side, at the centre of the handle is a key hole to wind up the polyphone with the handle.
The lid opens on a hinge and reveals an image inside the lid. The image is behind glass however at the top right hand corner the glass has a crack.
