~ Boxed Dinky Toys 101: Thunderbird 2 (and 4) ~
This toy was produced from 1967 to 1973. This particular model is based on of Thunderbird 2 from the Gerry Anderson TV show Thunderbirds.
Thunderbird 2 has folding legs and a detachable container with the original plastic Thunderbird 4. The set includes the reproduction box and display.
~ Thunderbirds ~
Thunderbirds was a British science fiction television series first broadcast during 1965 and 1966 which was devised by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and made by their company, AP Films, using a form of marionette puppetry dubbed “Supermarionation”.
~ Dimensions ~
The toy is 5.5 inches (14cm) long.
The box measures 6 3/4 inches (17.5cm) wide by 4 3/4 inches (12cm) wide by
1.5 inches (4cm) tall.
~ Condition ~
All parts of the toy are original. The toy has an amount paint loss to the tail, left wing and on the body. All the decals appears to be in place. The legs, although slightly distorted, remain unbroken, and deploy well. The pod pops out nicely.
The outer box is faded but complete with a couple of areas of loss to the yellow areas.
The inner stand is complete with all tabs, it has creases and some loss to the yellow on the back fold edge.
