A delicately crafted and beautifully hand painted Sitzendorf porcelain figure of a Georgian period man selling apples.
The man is in typical period costume. He wears blue breeches, a long red coat and a black hat.
He carries a basket of apples, one of which he holds in his left hand.
He stands on a naturalistic base with flowers.
There is the blue Sitzendorf stamp with crown to the underside, as well as the word ‘Foreign’.
The ‘Foreign’ stamp was in use from just after the First World War, when importers would not handle items marked ‘Germany’.

The piece stands approx. 8 inches (20cm) high and is 3 inches (8cm) at its widest point. It weighs 402g.
~Condition~
The piece has a tiny chip to the edge of the coat and is missing the tip of a finger but is otherwise in great condition.
